Data Security
Data Security
Last updated: March 2026 Β· Boostly Limited
We understand that giving an AI assistant access to your email, calendar and CRM raises legitimate concerns. Here's a complete overview of how we protect your data.
1. Your Passwords Never Touch Our Servers
All third-party tool connections (Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, HubSpot, etc.) go through Composio OAuth middleware. This means:
- Your passwords are not stored on our servers or your VPS
- Composio stores only OAuth tokens (authorisation credentials), not passwords
- You can revoke any tool's authorisation with one click on the Composio dashboard, at any time
- Upon revocation, the AI assistant immediately loses access to that tool
2. AI Runs in an Isolated Sandbox
OpenClaw operates inside a Docker isolated container β an industry-standard security technique:
- The AI assistant can only access its designated workspace directory, not other files on the server
- UFW firewall opens only essential ports (SSH), with the gateway bound to the local address
- Does not run with root privileges, minimising potential risk
3. Important Actions Require Your Approval
The AI assistant's execution approval mechanism (Approval Mode) ensures critical actions need your confirmation:
- Sending emails β AI drafts the content, sends it to you via Telegram for review, only sends after you reply "YES"
- Deleting files β requires your confirmation
- Financial operations β requires your confirmation
- Routine queries and reporting β runs automatically, no confirmation needed
In plain English: The AI can "see" and "think" on its own, but before it "does" anything important, it has to ask you first.
4. Data Is Stored on Your Own Device
- All AI conversation history, memory files and work logs are stored on your VPS or Mac Mini
- We do not operate any centralised database to store client AI data
- If you cancel service, your data remains on your own device β you retain full control
5. Maintenance Access Security
During Managed Care service, our engineers may need to access your server for maintenance. Access method:
- Via Tailscale encrypted tunnels β no public ports exposed
- Using a dedicated maintenance account with minimal privileges
- All operations are auditable through system logs
6. AI Model Provider Data Processing
When the AI assistant processes your emails or calendar content, that content is sent to AI model providers (e.g. Anthropic) for comprehension and response generation. You should know:
- Major AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) commit to not using API call data to train their models
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- We will clearly inform you during your first consultation which model provider is being used and where their servers are located
7. Our Security Commitments
- We will never transfer data to overseas servers without informing you
- We will never access your raw passwords
- We will never sell your data
- We will notify you immediately upon discovering any security vulnerability and provide a remediation plan

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: March 2026
About the Service
What exactly is deployAI? How is it different from ChatGPT?
βΎ
ChatGPT is a chat window β you ask, it answers. deployAI sets up an "AI employee" that proactively monitors your inbox, calendar and tools. It sends you daily briefings, auto-drafts replies, and manages your schedule. You don't need to go to it β it comes to you.
I'm not technical at all. Can I still use this?
βΎ
Absolutely. You just need to show up for one video call β we handle all the technical setup. Once deployed, you interact with your AI assistant through Telegram messages. It's as simple as texting a mate.
Why not just set it up myself? There are tutorials online.
βΎ
You can β OpenClaw is free and open source. But self-setup means you'll need to: configure a Linux server, set up Docker sandboxing, harden firewall rules, manage OAuth credentials, and continuously track updates and security patches. Some of our clients tried three times before coming to us β we had it done in two hours, with far better security. What's your time worth?
What are the conditions for the 14-day refund?
βΎ
No conditions. Within 14 days of deployment completion, if you're not happy, you get a full refund. No questions asked. We're confident in what we deliver.
Can I cancel the monthly plan any time? Is there a lock-in?
βΎ
Cancel any time, no penalty. Upon cancellation, services continue until the end of your current billing cycle. Your AI assistant and all data remain on your own server β you can continue to maintain it yourself.
About Security
Will the AI send emails without my permission?
βΎ
No. We configure an execution approval mechanism β the AI drafts an email, then sends you a preview via Telegram. It only sends after you confirm. High-impact actions (sending emails, deleting files, financial operations) all require your explicit "YES".
Is my Gmail password safe?
βΎ
Your password never touches our systems. All tool connections go through Composio OAuth middleware β we only receive authorisation tokens, not passwords. You can revoke access with one click on the Composio dashboard, any time.
What about AI "hallucinations" (incorrect output)?
βΎ
AI can indeed produce incorrect output β this is a known limitation of all current large language models. We mitigate risk through two safeguards: first, the "least privilege principle" β the AI can only access tools you've authorised; second, "execution approval mode" β important actions require your confirmation. Routine queries and information summaries carry very low risk.
Where is my data stored?
βΎ
All AI conversation logs, memory and work logs are stored on your own server (VPS or Mac Mini), not on ours. You have full control over your data. Even if you cancel service, your data stays on your device.
About Pricing
Are there any costs beyond the setup fee and monthly plan?
βΎ
You'll need to cover AI model API costs (e.g. Anthropic Claude, typically $10β30 USD/month depending on usage) and server costs (for cloud deployment, approx. $6β10 USD/month). We'll help you estimate total costs during the initial consultation.
Do prices include GST?
βΎ
Yes, all listed prices include GST. We provide proper GST invoices.
How do I choose between Basic, Pro and Team?
βΎ
Most clients go with Pro ($249/month) β beyond basic monitoring and updates, it includes priority response, monthly workflow optimisation and tool migration guarantee. If you just need to keep things running, Basic is fine. If you have multiple AI agents to manage, go with Team. Not sure? We'll help you work it out during the free 15-minute consultation.
